two guys and a girl--

This is my favorite picture of my little ones as of late. They are all looking at the camera and smiling (for the most part) and this is a very rare thing people!! We have been settling for family photos that consist of everybody's feet being in the circle we make. So this is a big step in the right direction:)

Tomorrows challenge is pets and since we don't have any and don't really want any I'm most likely going to skip it. I'm just being honest here folks-- Have you snapped any new photos for December?

The challenge of today is.....weather---

There is no denying that when one looked out the window today that it was the best kind of day out. If only the temperatures would stop flirting with the 70's on this December 5th. Thank heavens the weekend forecast calls for much cooler temps. I'm a weather girl geek if you haven't already noticed. I mean call me silly, but I think its perfectly appropriate to be cold in December.

My collections of quotes has grown exponentially since the birth of Pinterest. I totally love it! Smart, humorous, and uplifting words all wrapped up in pretty backgrounds. This one probably doesn't make all that much sense, but that's part of the appeal. I love being a red head- I mean I really love it. I have built up in my head this powerful persona from movies, old hollywood film stars, and characters in books in which being a red head is fierce.

This quote just makes me smile and think about Katharine Hepburn, my idols, attitude and Maureen O'Hara's Irish temper in The Quiet Man. These women have inspired me to be brave and concur your fears in life.

Day 3 #bestfriend

Day number 3 of the December Photo Challenge finds us with a photo of me with one of my very best friends!! This amazing, fearless, and devoted chick on the left (now woman) is Emily. We've been best friends since I was 13 and she was 14. We were partners in my best memories of crime growing up and I can't imagine those years without her! By now shes hopped states a few times but thanks to texting we talk several times a day which is kinda better than the phone because if that was the only choice we'd be on for hours and our homes would be a huge mess! {lol} I am grateful for her friendship and knowledge she shares with me. I can only hope to be as good of a friend to her as she is to me. Love you girl!!

Hello December

I'll be honest- December kind of sneaked up on me this year. I know it shouldn't, as it comes around the same time every year, its just that these last 6 months have been pretty difficult. And so in lui of all that it didn't come as surprise that I needed an extra boost to get into the Christmas holiday which brings me the December Photo Challenge I'm trying {trying...being the operative word} to participate in. I realize that that didn't sound to inviting, but I'm hoping that by mid-month I'll be rockin' a much happier disposition. That's the goal right? lol-

Films for the Season

There's no denying that Autumn has been and always will be my favorite time of year. Im happy to admit that over the past few years I've begun to enjoy the other seasons and what they have to offer as well. With September coming to a close- Georgia's fall is finally starting to make minor appearances. So without further ado may I introduce my 2013 Autumn Movie Bucket List. There are some classics, some new ones, and some that are on here "just because".

Ill just say its perfect and if you haven't seen it--- have you been living under a rock? {lol} Also-- Have you seen the original The Shop Around the Corner with Jimmy Stewart? You should watch it- it was made the same year as my favorite movie The Philadelphia Story in which Stewart was also in. 1940 was a good year for him- so handsome and he won an Oscar for the aforementioned film.

Thank goodness Matt started writing at Harvard for a class. Where would we be without lines like, "How do you like them apples?"

^^ I love this movie- plain and simple. I think Wes Anderson is brilliant.

There are several outstanding performances-  Angelica and Gene, Alec Balwdwin, but my favorites is Gwen's.

^^ I grew up playing basketball and did pretty okay for myself so I'm a little embarrassed to say I've never seen this. So I decided to watch it over the weekend. I didn't love it but I see why many people do. It doesn't hit any of the same marks that Rudy does and so in my opinion it falls a little short. Although I do love all the cold Indian scenes on the farms and when they are enthralled by the size of the gym at *spoiler alert* State Championship--that was the size of my high school gym folks.

^^ This is my favorite movie Harrisons in. I love when he dances around the barn with Kelly Mcgillis and that kiss they share in the field at dusk makes my hear race.Its my favorite on screen kiss in move history.

 

  

^^ Get this-- I've never seen this movie either and I love {LOVE} Diane Keaton.

I've heard it hailed as some of her best work, but I'm not a super big fan of Woody Allen on screen.

I think I'm kind of afraid to watch it. Its something I'm working one...give me time.

New things for all-- including a hat for mom

This year is turning out to be a year of firsts for our family. Chaz has been enrolled in first grade at the top public elementary school in the state which is a change from last year when we homeschooled. It has been a big adjustment for everyone but the benefits outweigh the negatives 10-1. He loves his teacher and the routine of school, which makes this momma happy. As if that wasn't enough we decided to put him in soccer with some friends from school and church. He loves it so far and so now two nights a week with games on Saturday I'm officially a soccer mom. To our most pleasant surprise he's holding his own and doing pretty great.

We are super excited to watch the rest of the season play out over these next few months and cheer on our little man and his teammates. All we need now is to find a sport for Richie and wait for the day to pass when Margot can start ballet. Four months and counting.
