One inch at a time

Over the weekend I snapped a shot of myself to record the progress I'm having with my hair growing out. Now if you look at this photo one might say, "but it doesn't look long at all."

And you would be right. Right? Wrong!! {lol} My hair has finally reached a length wear I can actually put it back with a whole heck of a lot help from bobby pins, that forms something that resembles a messy chic up-do. I know?!?! Can you stand it? I nearly fell over in my chair. That is I would have if I was sitting in one.

 So here's the question of the day and please {seriously, please} chime in with your thoughts and experiences...It's been two months since my last trim. Do I let it keep growing or go get another trim. Does the 6 week rule apply when you are trying to grow hair out. I'm leaning towards not, unless I get some really convincing arguments, since my trim will probably cut off everything that grew out since my last one.

Not to beat a dead horse, but--- I'm going to anyway.  Honestly, I'm sad that I can't blog about the everyday happening of this faux Tannenbaum family. It throws a wicked curve ball into my post schedule. It's like I'm constantly racking my brains for something uber fascinating to share with you guys. Not to say that our daily life is uber fascinating, but you catch my drift...lol

 ::Side note::  So Royal, as of late, has been digging around in the computer world and is becoming familiar with a whole slew of new technology he never had time for before now. Basically his brain is growing to twice it's normal size. So in order to keep up with him and not feel like I was being left behind on the education front I decided to pick a topic that I love and wanted to know more about and dove right in. There was no real competition...I chose History. Have you ever used  iTunes U? It's an amazing place where you can listen/watch lectures give by professors at colleges and universities all around the world. There are thousands to choose from; Stanford, UC Berkley, Oxford, Harvard, Hopkins, and the list seriously goes on and on. When finding out that Yale {surprise, surprise} has one of the most sought after programs for History there was no turning back. I'm starting with American History with lectures given by Joanne Freeman. She's pretty fun for a published Doctor. {lol} If you click on the above link you can root through the course info, as well as others. Even if Yale isn't your cup of tea, if you love to learn iTunes U is for you.

I had hair down to my bottom when I was younger. My mother would never let me cut it until I was at least 11.

See what I mean???

Since then I have had it short, never longer than my shoulders. I had worn it long for half of my life and now that I finally had a say-- I was going to wear it short gosh darn it!! {hehe}

Here I am at 17 with my best friend....hair= short

The last photo is what I try to look like on a good day, even if I have to pretend. Isn't it always the way when you look in the mirror and do and over all check before you walk out the door and feel great. Then when you stumble back in you are appalled at what you see?? No? {tap tap tap..is this thing on??} Please don't tell me I'm the only one who ever wonders...how long had that rouge piece of hair been on the loose??

Moving on...

I have as of the past few months been on a grow your hair out kick. And let me tell you...with hair that grows this slow I'll be a grandmother before I have the locks to pull off some of the hairstyles I've been dying to do.

 Oh to have locks that will flow down my back again!! I am in such desperate need of a support team to root me on my way!!! Your cheers will be VERY much appreciated. I come to you as a girl who when she was bored with life during her high school years would either cut or dye her hair. This is no easy task I am embarking on. 


Any tips or secrets to help hair grow faster would be mega appreciated. {btw::: I have 3 kids...the prenatal vitamins tip doesn't work on me...is there no hope then?? lol}

Red Head Love

I was born a red head, and despite a few times in high school I "rebelled" and dyed my hair blonde and brown. With my fair Irish complexion let's say they weren't a very flattering choice.

I love being a red head. There are a few famous celebs, some from the past and some currently living, that I just adore! They are iconic and regal.

Favorite Red Head #1: Katharine Hepburn

I've been obsessed with Katharine for a long time. She was strong-willed, independent, outspoken, eccentric, and sharp-witted. No one told her what to do and she always ran the show. I love her! I was married on her birthday May 12.

Favorite Movie: The Philadelphia Story

Favorite Red Head #2: Maureen O'Hara

When I saw The Quiet Man for the first time I was a little girl. I was mesmerized by Maureen. It has been said that she was feisty, passionate, spunky, as well as that fiery-red hair. She gives me the excuse to always be right and at the same time a "downright silly woman", because that's just the way Irish women are. {lol} When my husband watched The Quiet Man with me for the first time he said, "It's like watching you on the screen."

Favorite Red Head #3: Julianne Moore:

Julianne is my favorite current red head. She is ravishing. I love how she wears her hair and know how to do her make up that up plays her fair skin. She is involved in several charities that deal with helping children and keeping them safe. She seems like such a stylish and just all around awesome woman. I would love to meet her someday.

Favorite Movie: Toss up between Hannibal and Laws of Attraction

They say blondes have more fun, but that's because they've never been a red head. I love being a red head..It rocks. Power to the Reds.
